Big day in Uruguay! Started at ANEP to learn about incorporating multiple languages into education, including sign language. Went on to Ceibal to learn about educational innovation with technology integration. Returned to hotel to enjoy matte (sp?), story time with Elly reading her own book, and teaching my fellow Fulbrighters the first steps in solving a Rubik’s cube. 💙🤍 Sadly, no cat sighting today.
Educator Reflection: This visit complicated my original thinking about edu ational technology. I expected that widespread access to devices would automatically mean that technology was highly visible in everyday instruction, but I began to see that access is only one part of a much larger system. Professional learning, teacher confidence, infrastructure, time, and the usefulness of the tool all influence whether technology becomes meaning instruction. That is something I now think about differently when evaluating technology use in my own classroom
