Day started at a teacher professional development (on a Saturday!) at a neighborhood school in Maldonado. Lunch at a marketplace, then walking around the pier. It ended watching the sunset at Ceremonia Al Sol. It was cloudy, but the moment of sunset was marked by the words of Carlos Paez Vilaro, as it is every night. Our group was joined by our host teachers, and it has been so nice getting to know everyone so well.
Educator Reflection: Seeing teachers give their time to professional learning reinforced that professional growth depends on educators who are willing to remain learners themselves. It also made me think about the professional development I provide for colleagues at home. I want professional learning to be practical, collaborative, and connected to what teachers can realistically use and not simply another presentation of ideas.
